Get paid what you're owed, without paying to find out if it's worth chasing.
A letter of demand, issued by an attorney on a contingency basis. We screen your claim first. If it's viable, the letter goes out. If the debtor pays, a fee applies. If they don't, you owe nothing for the soft-collection stage.
Nothing is sent to the debtor until an attorney has reviewed the file. This is soft collection: a formal demand and follow-up, not litigation.
01
Submit Your Claim
You fill in the claim details and upload your FICA documents. Takes about fifteen minutes.
02
We Screen It
We check South African law: cause of action, prescription, and whether the claim is enforceable. If it isn't viable, we tell you plainly, and stop.
03
An Attorney Takes It On
If it's viable, we refer you to attorneys that can assist, who review the file and draft the letter of demand.
04
Soft Collection Begins
The letter goes out. The attorney follows up with the debtor. You get updates at each stage.
05
Outcome
If the debtor pays on an unopposed basis, a contingency fee applies. If they dispute it or don't respond, this service ends here. Going further is a separate decision, on separate terms.
No fee unless the debtor pays. Contingency only.
What you'll need before you start
Details of the debtor and how to contact or serve them
The agreement, invoice, or document the debt arises from
Proof of delivery or performance, if goods or services were supplied
Any prior correspondence, payment history, or part-payments
Your own FICA documents, ready to upload
What makes a claim viable
The debt is provable in writing, not just "they said they'd pay"
It hasn't prescribed, most commercial debts have a 3-year window
If it's a credit agreement, the right notice can still be issued correctly
The amount justifies the cost of taking it further if the debtor pushes back
What happens if it's disputed
Soft collection resolves most straightforward, undisputed claims. If the debtor disputes it, or doesn't respond at all, that's the end of what this service covers automatically. You'll be told clearly where things stand, and if you want to take it further, you can engage the attorney directly, on terms you agree to at that point, not before.
